Free-Range Eggs

We produce a small number of free-range eggs for local consumers, bakeries and restaurants. As the chooks are free to roam without any fencing, they are very content and not subject to any of the abuse and distress faced by chickens in battery farms or large commercial 'free range' operations where chooks never taste grass or know what it's like to discover a dock plant full of seed or scratch a worm out of the ground.  Our philosophy is about the wellbeing of the animals at Gracebrook, producing sustainability without exploitation.  Idealistic, yes, but the eggs taste fantastic!

The blue-green eggs are from the Araucana chicken, a South American breed.  They are arguably better than the usual chook egg, but essentially they are the same on the inside, with a beautiful rich yellow yoke. We normally supply a mixture, but are happy to make up an order to your preference.

Free Range Eggs :  $6 per dozen or $15 per tray (30)

 

As we can't reliably ship eggs, we prefer they be collected from our Amberley address.

 

We are also able to supply the occasional pullet, breeding hen, or rooster to people wanting to grow their own free range eggs.  Please enquire if interested, stating required quantity, age, sex and breed.
